UpdateThis weekend a busy (email) in-box has kept me entertained between bouts of extracating Gilbert from potentially life threatening situations. Is this a boy thing or what? It is good to see him getting mobile though - now the fun begins!
I'm a terrible 'Blogger' I know. My updates are fairly infrequent, but I do have a life to lead and there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done.
Quick update then....
Last weekend was a bit of a boozy-do, when clare and I finally got around to treating a few friends to a post-marital meal at our favourite Cantonese restaurant. We all ended up back at the house which made Harry's evening as he proceeded to trail muddy footprints from the building-site outside. I nearly died when I saw the state of the place when I got up on Sunday morning, but it was soon put right.
Last Tuesday I travelled to London for a conference on email marketing. It was very informative, though I had to keep a low profile as I was effectively spying on a potential rival. I'd forgotten what a drag these London trips can be, but I guess I was able to work uninterupted on the train and after the conference I was able to travel across the city to the Gilbert & George exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery.
I'd missed the private view at the Serpentine, but really wanted to see their 'Dirty Words' pictures from the late 70's.
I'd never been there before and it was quite a hike from Knightsbridge to the Serpentine. I had to keep in the shade of the trees as the sun was blisteringly hot. This kind of weather shouldn't be sniffed at I know, but it's not very welcome when you are wearing a suit and lugging a (so called) lightweight portable computer around with you.
The rest of the week was a bit of a blur as I worked on a major update to one of Headland's websites. I can usually tell whether or not I have had a busy week by the number of times I have to recharge my mobile phone.
The Nottingham in the 80's book project is coming along nicely and I have had two good great contributions from Carlton TV and Paul Smith, both of which will add a bit of variety to our shots of the city centre.
Oh yes, and the other thing I received this weekend was a late 1960's vintage Action Man doll complete with spacesuit. I think the last time I saw one of those was at Robert Jones Junior School in Blidworth. Kids always used to take their best toys in for the last day of term, remember?
I never had an Action Man spaceman as they were quite rare even back then. Now all I need it the Action Man Mercury Space Capsule.....
...I said this obsession was a bad thing......
