Old Market Square Mosiac, 1984.

This 12-foot diameter masterpiece of coloured Venetian glass was built by Derek Hampson and Tim Reynolds and laid by Quiligetti of Manchester in April 1981. It sits just in front of the Council House Steps, with its motto of Vivit Post Funera Virtus, ‘virtue survives death’.
