Many local 1980’s pubs were supplied by Shipstone’s Brewery, which was located in Basford, just outside the city centre.

Nottingham’s Shipstones ale houses included: The Horse and Groom, The Rutland Arms, The Corn Exchange, The Regent, The Narrow Boat, The Exchange Hotel, The Queen’s Hotel and The Old Plough among others.
