‘Turf Tavern’ public house, Parliament Street, 1984.

Rebuilt in 1923, this public house here bears its original Shipstones Ales illuminated sign.

In 1981, 24-year old David Bradley became Nottingham’s youngest pub landlord when he and his wife became licencees.

The centre of this picture marks the site of the old Empire Theatre, where Charlie Chaplin appeared in 1904.
