Here, ‘Tricky’ Trevor Bakewell (left) and a friend are enjoying the Wednesday night rock and roll disco at the ‘QE’ as it is known, on Bottle Lane.

The popular Arriba Club was also located on this street and Nottingham’s first telephone exchange was opened on Bottle Lane in 1881.
