Located in the basement of Nottingham Palais, the Bali Hai exploited the growing popularity of dedicated music television channels such as MTV which was already available via cable to many Nottingham homes.

In 1987 the venue assumed the name ‘Central Park’, and was heralded as the country’s first 34-screen satellite bar.
