Clock Tower, Bancrofts Factory, Robin Hood Street, 1985.

Founded in 1886 by George William Bancroft, the firm moved to these premises in 1914, and specialised in the manufacture of nurses’ caps, ladies blouses and camisoles.

In 1985, 500 workers were employed here. Sadly, this factory closed a few years ago and is currently being refurbished for use as apartments.
