Post Office Buildings, Brook Street, 1989.

Now awaiting demolition, these premises replaced the ageing properties of Corn Street, Parrot’s Place and Virginia Street in the late 1930s.

First occupied by the Post Office in April 1940, computerised mail-sorting machines had been installed by 1981.
