Cornish Engineering, Popham Street, 1989.

New proposals to develop the Broadmarsh Centre across Collin and Canal Street threaten to swallow up numerous old commercial properties.

This reflects the clearance which took place in the nearby Narrow Marsh area in the 1930s, when slums such as Red Lion Street were deemed unfit for habitation and demolished.
