Flying Horse pub, The Poultry, 1982.
The Flying Horse, one of Nottingham’s oldest alehouses, featured an internal fountain and nine bars including the Goose Fair Bar and the Market Bar. It survived an attempted closure and demolition threat in 1968, but served its final pint in December 1986.
These great archways under Nottingham’s Council House have now been fitted with lockable gates, to deter nighttime vandalism and theft. |
