Midland Railway Station, 1980.

In the days before rail privitisation, all trains passing through Nottingham’s Midland Railway Station were part of the national network and simply marked ‘British Rail’.

This vehicle is about to embark on the east coast branch line to Skegness, affectionally known as ‘Nottingham-on-sea’ by generations of Nottingham workers.
