Fruit Market brick relief, Brook Street, 1989.

Located next to the old telephone exchange, this decorative brickwork dominated Sneinton Market for decades.

The fruit theme relates to the Geest Banana warehouse on Gedling Street.

This area is being redeveloped as loft-style apartments and is billed as ‘Funky, horny, pads for young people’. This clever piece of marketing reinforces the property-developer's dream to create a ‘Covent Garden’ style environment within the Sneinton area of the city.
