With CD players now fitted in most new cars, it is easy to forget the humble 8-track cartridge player, introduced in 1965, and seen here fitted in a Ford Zodiac.

This could well have been an Ocean, Auto Sonic or Radiomobile model, which used quarter-inch tape, divided along its width into 8 ‘tracks’ and is highly collectable.

The fur trimmed interior with hanging furry dice was a popular trend in the early 1980s.
