Ivan Pastuch, 1980.

Ivan, a mature student, was an exuberant character from the Forest Fields area of Nottingham, and produced hundreds of pastel drawings and paintings in a Pre-Raphaelite style.

The weekly life-drawing class depicted here shows Ivan in deep concentration. The college had the unusual distinction of employing a rather senior life-model. Martha was 80 years old when she finally retired!
