View of Mansfield Road, with St Andrews Church at the summit. 1980.

A deep trench to the rear of Clarendon College was once part of Carrington Railway station. Students were sometimes known to walk the length of the old tunnel, extending under Mansfield Road and emerging in an abandoned cutting of the Victoria Railway Station which was demolished in 1968.

Although the Carrington-end is now covered over, the mouth of the tunnel is still visible from the lower level of the Victoria Centre car park.
