Trivett Square, 1989.
The name refers to L O Trivett & Co., which along with J Fletcher & Co. of 50 St. Mary’s Gate, and Black Brothers of 53 Stoney Street, formed the main core of lace net manufacturers at this time.
By this period however, the area had fallen into a state of decline, long before the practice of converting disused factories into living space became commonplace.
In the 1920’s New York lace manufacturers Levi Sondheimer & Co. had an office in Trivett Square. |
