Lace warehouse, Western Street, 1988.

Although the street was mainly devoid of industry in the 1980s, it had been the site of Bellamy Bros, and Kelsall and Turner’s cardboard box makers, earlier in the century. The description ‘Nottingham Lace’ was first coined in the 1780s.
