Notebooks were carried at all times
during the early 1980's. An extension of regular diaries,
these little black books became filled with bizarre newspaper
cuttings, cartoons, lyrics, social comment, adolescent exploits
and wild fantasies. The 'psycho-books' as they were called,
now provide a curious insight into the life and times of
dispossessed art students living in the north of England.
It's all here, everything from new romantic decadence to
Thatcherite dole queues.
