If you are a child of the sixties and seventies then this image will probably remind you of being off school with the dreaded 'lurgy'. In those days there was no daytime TV to speak of, only special 'Programmes for Schools and Colleges' and scary things for Cymru Wales. These comforting pictures, accompanied by electronic copyright-free musak filled in the gaps where there was nothing on TV and were used by television engineers to test those old Rediffusion TV sets in their imitation teak cabinets.
